Every parent knows the constant struggle of thinking of new and exciting activities to keep the kids occupied and stimulated.  Our girls love doing arts and crafts, learning new things, and keeping active, but sometimes coming up with new things for them to do is a challenge in itself!  The Internet is a great place to start when it comes to looking for inspiration, and our go to is always the Disney Healthy Living website. Below are some of the activities we did with the girls during the holidays and have bookmarked to do with them over the upcoming weekends.

Our girls are big fans of Minnie and top of the list is a Minnie inspired necklace as well as Minnie rainbow ears.  You can never go wrong with glitter and bling!

Having three children at school going age, you can imagine the amount of birthday parties we have on our calendars at any given time!  We love this idea of Mickey & Minnie paint splatter art, and we are going to change it up a bit and use the idea to create birthday cards for their friends.

Emile and I are all about healthy eating and adopted a meat free diet in 2017.  While the girls don’t follow the exact same diet as us, we do ensure that they have a healthy and balanced diet and this all comes down to planning!  This weekly meal planner is a fun way to get them involved and onboard with making healthy choices:

One of the most used words in our house – “WHY?” Kids are like sponges when it comes to learning new information and fun facts! I love how inquisitive the girls are and welcome their constant questions (although at times I must admit they stump me and we have to go and research the answer together!) These “Did you know?” facts are great conversation starters and even Emile and I learnt one or two new things from them!

I must admit, we have used these tips and tricks before to get the girls active and moving!  Emile and I lead an active lifestyle and it’s important to us that our girls follow suit.  The biggest goal is to keep it fun, a little spontaneous, and not to make it feel like a chore.

We would love to see some of the creations you make with your children from the Disney Healthy Living website! Please share them on Instagram, tag us and use the hashtag #Mickey90Africa so that we’re able to track them.
